Neues Angebot an jedem 2. Sonntag im Monat / New offer each second Sunday of the month

Unter der Schirmherrschaft der Afrikanischen Seelsorge der Diözese Speyer bietet die Igbo-Gemeinde in Zusammenarbeit mit der Pfarrei Hl. Katharina von Siena ab April an jedem zweiten Sonntag im Monat um 14 Uhr eine Heilige Messe in englischer Sprache an. Die Gottesdienste finden in der Kirche St. Hedwig (Brandenburger Str. 1) statt. Damit sollen englischsprachige Christen, die in der Region Ludwigshafen und darüber hinaus leben, die Möglichkeit erhalten, an einer Messe in der ihnen vertrauten Sprache teilzunehmen.

Der erste englischsprachige Gottesdienst findet am 12. April 2026 statt.  

Holy Mass in English

Under the umbrella of African Pastoral Care, Diocese of Speyer, the Igbo Catholic Community (ICC), in conjunction with St. Katharina von Siena’s Parish will begin to offer Holy Mass in English every 2nd Sunday of the month in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church (Brandenburger Straße 1) from April 2026 by 2pm prompt. The purpose of this offer is to give all English-speaking Christians living in the region of Ludwigshafen and beyond, especially those of African origin, the opportunity to attend Mass celebrated in the language of their utmost familiarity. 

In order to facilitate the dissemination of this very important offer, a reminding invitation shall be published in the different communication media of the Igbo Catholic Community and St. Katharina von Siena as well as other parishes in Ludwigshafen Deanery. All Christian desiring to attend Mass in English are asked to avail themselves of this unique opportunity to come and pray with and for one another.  May God bless you abundantly as you make out time to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
